PASSAGES & PRINCIPLES: WHEN TO DISOBEY THE LAW OF THE LAND

CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE: 

In the New Testament:

1)  Disciple John, and Disciple Apostol Peter disobey the law of the land to NOT HEAL or PREACH ABOUT JESUS. 

          Acts 5: 29 Peter responds to religious authorities, 

•  “We must obey God rather than men” 

         Acts 4: 19-20 Peter and John answered,

•  “Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge; 
• For we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard” 

2) HEBREW MIDWIVES- During the reign of Egyptian Pharaoh, midwives disobey the Pharaoh's instruction to kill male Jewish babies. 

          Exodus 1:17

•  “feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but let the boys live” 

         Exodus 1:20-21

•   “God was good to the midwives, and the people multiplied, and became very mighty. Because the midwives feared God, He established households for them”
